One full day log disk performance

Hi,
I have a NT4 SP6, MSSQL7 SP4 server.
I want to check the max and the avg of disk read/sec during one day.
I am using with the Performance Monitor but when :
- I export in a csv file from the chart monitor, I only obtain a 2 or
3 minutes result set
- I export a csv file from the log monitor, I have no results in the
csv file. Even after collecting datas during one hour.
Does anyone know a procedure ?

RJPIn System Monitor, you could create a new 'Counter log' and specify a .CSV
output file, and then run that log.
In System Monitor, on the left hand pane, right click on 'Conter Logs'
(under the Performance Logs and Alerts node) , and select 'New Log Settings'
to create one.

Exporting will just export what is on the graph at that time. You have to
log as you go.

on nt4

I know this sounds oldish but the fact is I have Sql Server 2000 installed
on an NT4 machine. Everything works correctly exept Sql Server stops by
itself after a certain amount of time, irrigularly. There is nothing in the
log of the server of the machine.
Is there another tool that I could use to find out why this appends.

Could you please monitor your resource utlization (Memory in particular)
using performance monitor. Check the usage of virtual memory as well.
Look into the Event viewer as well as SQL server error logs for any messages
or errors.
As well as check you have the latest service pack applied for SQL 2000.
Latest is SP3a
select serverproperty('productlevel')

XP it is easy to figure out, but on Nt4 the Log that I found did not give
any indication, not even the fact that I restarted Sql Server.
I will also install Sp3.

Event viewer -- Which stores all the System , Application and Security logs.
Go to Start -- Programs -- Administrative tools -- Event viewer-- Click the
Log menu to see the other logs.

OLE DB provider ran out of memory

I run 2 sql servers same nt4 sp5 and server 1 has 2G
memory, server 1 is linked to server 3 and vice versa.
server 1 has a limit of 1.5G max memory setting for sql
server and I recently ran into this error when initiating
job from server03
OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' reported an error.
The provider ran out of memory. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error
7399) Could not relay results of procedure 'xxx' from
remote server 'server01'.
[SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 7221) Associated statement is not
prepared
[SQLSTATE HY007] (Error 0) OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB'
reported an error.
The provider ran out of memory. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error
7399)
Could not relay results of procedure 'xxx' from remote
server 'server01'.
[SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 7221). The step failed.
not sure if it's a memory cache problem or what. at my
wits endThe problem is more than likely on Server 3 not 1. You say Server 1 has 2GB
with a 1.5GB max setting, what about Server 3? Linked Servers and OLEDB
type activity is usually taken from the memory to leave portion and not the
memory pool. Memory to leave can be adjusted by using the -g statup
parameter for sql server. I also suggest you set a mx memory on Server 3 if
not already.
